Pet owners wishing to use the Pet ID Service register for a Family Trusted Pet ID account. Registration involves entering contact information, such as your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. Your use of your Pet ID account involves your uploading photographs and inputting information about your pets into your Pet ID account. Your contact and pet information is an integral part of the Pet ID Service and is necessary to provide the Service to you.
We may use your information for the following purposes: to establish your Pet ID account, to operate the Pet ID Service for your Pet ID account (including broadcasting missing pet information at your instruction), to fulfill your requests for products and services, to improve the Service, to customize advertising, to conduct research, and to provide anonymous aggregated data to our partners and advertisers. In addition, we and our sponsors may send you information such as an e-mail newsletter and discount coupons for pet products and otherwise promote and advertise products and services to you. Our Founding Sponsor is Novartis Animal Health US, Inc. We will share your information with our Founding Sponsor, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We may also use your information to respond to subpoenas, court orders and legal process; to cooperate with law enforcement officials; to assist in recovering a missing pet; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; and in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or pet, violations of our Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.
Payment to us requires your providing billing information, such as billing name and address and credit card number. Billing information is used solely to bill for the Service and other products or services you buy. Billing information is not used by us, any sponsor or any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. We use a third-party intermediary to manage the credit card processing. This intermediary is solely a link in the distribution chain and is not permitted to store, retain or use the billing information provided, except for the sole purpose of credit card processing.
Your
information will not be otherwise distributed to or shared with third
parties. Our sponsors have all agreed to follow this Policy with
respect to any personal information they may receive from us.
OPT-OUT POLICY
We
offer you a means to choose how we may use your information. You can
opt out of receiving commercial messages from us or our sponsors at any time after
you register for the Pet ID Service. In addition, you can
opt out of future commercial messages sent to you by us or our
sponsors at the time a message is distributed. Our sponsors have all
agreed to follow this Policy. We reserve the right to send you
certain communications relating to the Pet ID Service, such as
service announcements, administrative messages and an e-mail
newsletter, that are considered part of your Pet ID account, without
offering the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
EDITING YOUR INFORMATION
You can edit your information by making changes in your Pet ID account, which is part of the Service. The ability to make make changes and to delete your Pet ID account are accessed through the Manage Your Account menu choice.
